Overview:

The ever-pragmatic Yatagooshee saw wisdom in growing their own servants, with limited intellect and bodies that could be readily modified for different tasks.  The results were the Sattugachee, and they were deemed less than satisfactory.  Not only were they quick-witted, but their bodies were sickly, vulnerable to infections, diseases, tumors and growths.  It was theoretically possible to maintain a Sattugachee on long voyages by transferring its mind to a cloned body – but hardly efficient.  The Yatagooshee considered the project a failure and turned the Sattugachee out on their own, to aimlessly wander and find what little meaning they could in their miserable existence.
